Chapter 14 - AUDREY QUITS COMPETING

Audrey stopped competitions for a year.
Not violin.
Competition.
She continued lessons.
Played chamber music.
No rankings.
No auditions.
Celina struggled with that more than the criminal case.
At family therapy, Audrey said:
“When I play and you listen, I feel like you’re counting.”
Celina asked:
“Counting what?”
“Whether I’m worth it.”
That sentence changed her.
Not overnight.
Enough.
Then Audrey’s father took over scheduling.
Two lessons a week became one.
One orchestra.
No extra coaching unless Audrey asked.
Her playing improved.
