Chapter 20 - THE FAMILY FOUNDATION

Constance chaired the Caradonna Family Heritage Foundation.
Not a massive charitable empire.
Museum grants.
Scholarships.
Historic preservation.
Her role was real.
Her work substantial.
The board commissioned an independent review because some directives affecting foundation events had carried Anton’s purported approval after he revoked signature authority.
Findings:
Three family-event directives used Anton’s signature image outside authorized scope.
Two had no material financial consequence.
One caused the foundation to cancel a youth art partnership because Constance wrote that Anton opposed “child-centered programming at formal heritage properties.”
He had not.
The partnership had lost one season.
The foundation later restored it.
No millions stolen.
No giant fraud.
Board removed Constance as chair.
She remained a nonvoting honorary member? No.
The board decided that would confuse accountability.
She resigned entirely.
Her past credited accurately.
Her future authority ended.
No confiscation of donations.

No rewriting donor plaques.
Consequences where trust had mattered.
